“One Million Moms” - One Million [Moaning, Annoying, Pathetic, Ignorant] Moms.
I read an article about “One Million Moms”, who are currently ‘condeming’ Urban Outfitters for placing an advert in their April 2012 catalogue of two women embracing and kissing.
This is from their ‘issue’ page from their website:
“Before your child has a chance to read the newest Urban Outfitters catalog call to unsubscribe from their mailing list at 1-800-282-2200, and then throw it away. When you call be sure to let them know why you are unsubscribing. Tell them you will also no longer shop at their stores if you hear this type of advertising continues. The content is offensive and inappropriate for a teen who is the company’s target customer.”
It is quite funny that this organisation think they will have an affect on what adverts UO will place in their catalogues. I am VERY sure that a multi-million company like UO can deal with losing a couple of dollars from a few moaning mothers.
Regardless of what people believe, gay men and women are BORN gay. The natural attraction gay men and women have to the same sex is the SAME natural attraction that straight men and women have to the opposite sex, (same attraction, just different sexes). So again, it is quite funny to think that these ignorant women believe that keeping a few gay ads away from their children will determine their sexuality.
They also have an issue with the program called ‘GCB’, for ‘offending’ the Christian community with their story lines. Well you know what, don’t fucking watch it. No one is forcing you to. If people want to watch it, then let them. I have nothing against religion what-so-ever, but with any belief - not just religion - I hate it when one has to FORCE it down someone else’s throat. Regardless if your country is predominantly Christian, you still have to respect those people that are not. I thought Christianity was about love? I also thought that judgement was only for God, that every sin is the same, that we are all imperfect - so who are YOU to judge another on the actions they take? Unless you are Jesus or the second-coming, then shut the fuck up.
Interfering, annoying, sad and really pathetic groups like these clearly have nothing better to do with their time than to complain about shit that no one really gives a fuck about anymore. Even if they banned everything associated with homosexuality within the media, I would still happily and proudly get it on with a hot guy in the club, or anywhere in public for that matter. And if someone objected to it, then they would get a very loud and very clear ‘fuck off’.
People like this are SO oblivious and ignorant to the changing world around them, that they in fact forget that times are changing - people do not care anymore.
I pity people like this. I personally do not care what people think of me. But what I do care about is when groups like these influence younger and not so confident kids, those who are more sensitive, especially those within the LGBT community. It is beyond me how people can happily bully and hate kids as young as thirteen to the point of suicide due to their sexual orientation. It is sickening.
People like that are no better than murderers - same kind of thinking, just a different kind of weapon.
